Emprendedurismo Senior 5.0: Experiencia y Creatividad más allá de los 50

En los años noventa la Organización Mundial de la Salud (OMS) comenzó a utilizar el término “envejecimiento activo” con el fin de reconocer y resaltar los factores que influyen en la forma de envejecer, así como para transmitir un mensaje positivo asociado al proceso del envejecimiento. La OMS explica que el término “activo” se refiere a que las personas mayores participen y contribuyan activamente en los sectores sociales, culturales, económicos, espirituales y cívicos de la comunidad.

El envejecimiento de la población es un gran triunfo en el desarrollo de la humanidad, pero también es un gran desafío, al exigir cambios y ajustes económicos y sociales. Los cambios demográficos nos enfrentan a una nueva realidad dónde el envejecimiento poblacional se consolida como un gran reto que requiere la búsqueda de soluciones innovadoras desde un enfoque multidimensional.

Aunque este es un fenómeno en aumento, persisten aún diversas barreras que limitan el potencial de las personas adultas mayores (Seniors) para su desarrollo. Entre ellas, se encuentran los prejuicios arraigados sobre el envejecimiento (edadismo), las dificultades de adaptación al cambio tecnológico y las restricciones normativas que limitan el trabajo luego del retiro.

La Organización Mundial de la Salud (OMS) también se refiere al edadismo como los estereotipos (como pensamos), los prejuicios (como nos sentimos) y la discriminación (como actuamos) hacia las personas, en función de su edad. Es una forma de discriminación e intolerancia, ya que impide reconocer y respetar la diversidad del ser humano, en cualquier etapa de su vida.

Transitando el siglo XXI, en plena Cuarta Revolución Industrial, se asiste a un nuevo paradigma del envejecimiento activo, con una mirada positiva y alentadora sobre las personas mayores, desafiando a los países a integrar dentro de sus políticas sociales acciones orientadas a brindar oportunidades a este colectivo. El emprendedurismo senior se considera como una opción innovadora en respuesta a los desafíos que arriban junto con el envejecimiento poblacional, el cambio tecnológico y la nueva normalidad.

Los Seniors cuentan con un gran potencial para el emprendedurismo, bajo el entendido de que la innovación y la creatividad se logran potenciar con la acumulación de experiencia en la trayectoria laboral, personal y de consolidación financiera.

A su vez, es esperable que el estímulo a las capacidades de este colectivo pueda colaborar tanto con el empoderamiento como con el bienestar personal, revalorizando su participación social y económica a través de nuevas actividades que dinamicen la inversión, generen nuevas fuentes laborales, promuevan la capacitación y la reconversión en el marco del envejecimiento activo.

Una gran oportunidad, la incorporación productiva, activa y saludable de este segmento de la población Seniors 5.0: Los Migrantes Digitales, a todo el ecosistema productivo mundial, que encuentran en estos espacios una forma de realización personal que les permite fijarse nuevas metas y continuar generando valor económico y social, con una actitud proactiva y de estímulo hacia un continuo avance en su desarrollo, aportando valor a nuevas generaciones de emprendedores, con su experiencia y conocimientos consolidados.

Yo soy parte de este fenómeno mundial, una mujer de cincuenta años, en pleno proceso de migración física, mental, emocional y digital. Con 30 años de experiencia y la mente llena de ideas frescas, novedosas y creativas. Con ganas de volar hacia nuevos horizontes y acompañar el vuelo de aquellos que aun tienen dudas de que el cielo es el límite. Cuando miro por el espejo retrovisor, para revisar el camino recorrido, me lleno de emoción al ver todo lo que he avanzado y vivido. Al mirar al frente, me sorprenden las infinitas posibilidades y oportunidades que están al alcance de nuestros sueños.
